Welcome!

Welcome to Rexiology, Rex Tang's public resources.

This is a personal blog site featuring several blogs differentiated by topics and using languages. I wrote blogs several years ago (although on that time it was not called blog but something like newsletter), and found that blogging is a good habit to keep things backup and memorized. so I think I'll keep doing so until I am too busy to...

Just a simple history of this blog site. This site is originally from url http://blog.rex.la started from year 2003 but kept blog posts from year 2000. Later changed domain name to http://rextang.net until now. The blog system is originally .Text and then upgrade to CommunityServer 1.1 and now it's running CommunityServer 2007.1 (upgrade at 2007/10/14). I am a developer, I like making things by myself, and CommunityServer's open source nature and nice web architecture is good for me to host my posts and customize my style. This site is hosted at ASPNIX webhosting, I think their service is good.

I am from Taiwan and now live at Tokyo, Japan. I am currently working for Microsoft Consulting Service Japan, and should stay at Japan for a long time. But as here is a personal blog site, posts here are not related to the company, it should be all personal opinions regarding to any things I said here, and provided "AS IS" without warranties. I used to be a Microsoft MVP for ASP.NET and I did host MVP blog site before. for now since I am a Microsofty, I moved my working blog site to MSDN blogs at http://blogs.msdn.com/rextang . On that site the topic will mainly be Microsoft Technologies. I like my company and am glad to be a Microsofty, I like Tokyo the city also Japan culture so I moved, living here and working for my favorite company. I like software, and it has no country boundary.

I believe the specialty of a blog site should be its writing topics and writing styles. It will make easy for people to remember and distinguish a blog. The following is simple introduction of this blog site. It contains 4 blogs and related photo galleries for storing post related photos:

This blog is the archive of my past blog posts hosted at http://blog.rex.la domain name. although I am not running that domain now, all the posts are preserved here for reference. you can find many posts relating to technology, travel, and Japan culture here. I used to run only this blog so all the topics are inside here classified by categories. Mixing languages of English, Traditional Chinese, as well as Japanese, and note that this blog is for archive and is not updating anymore.

This blog is mainly on Information Technologies. Not limited to Microsoft stuffs, but all the interesting stuffs I found during my work or study. This blog will also be an archive of my MSDN blog site, means that all my MSDN blog posts will have a crosspost backup here to archive all my work experiences for later references. I am writing posts here in English.

This blog is mainly on my life stuffs. Something fun, travelling diary, books I read, TV I watch, foods I eat, music I am listening, etc. As I am now living at Tokyo, Japan, you'll expect here be full of Japan culture and tokyo stuffs, also I love watching "Japan Dorama" (Japan TV drama series), I am trying to write posts about every drama I watched as a reference. Posts in this blog will also be crossposting to my MSN Spaces blog, and I am writing posts here in Traditoinal Chinese.

This blog's topics are same like my Life blog, but as to practice my Japanese, I'll write post here in Japanese. Some topics will have posts here also have a Chinese version in Life blog, but some topics related to Japan stuffs will only be posted here. You should expect to see topics like Japan movies, JPop music, Japan local events, my Japanese practice writings inside this blog.

As CommunityServer is mainly on its forum functionalities, also recently it featured file management capabilities, since here is only a blog site, I am disabling those functionalities also not allowed for user registration.

So that's all about this blog site, wish you can find what you need here. Thanks for visiting and have a good day~~
